In this open meeting, we aim to build a European level consortium for a Citizen Science project based on FORTHEM European university alliance members and private, public and civic university external actors.

The FIT FORTHEM team at the University of Jyväskylä organized a workshop: Science as a civic skill – Citizen Science in schools, on 2021 April 27th, where we discussed a relatively new approach to build a citizen science agenda in social sciences and humanities.

Now we invite You to Join us on 2021 May 31, 1-3 pm, CET (2-4 pm EET), for a follow-up discussion organized by JYU and the University of Opole.

In this meeting, we aim to build a European level consortium for a Citizen Science project based on FORTHEM European university alliance members and private, public and civic university external actors.

The two-hour event kicks off with an introduction by the Secondary Comprehensive school No 1 in Kędzierzynie-KoźlePoland about the Citizen science pilot that they conducted under the scientific supervision of the University of Opole during the 2021 spring term. Students and teachers will demonstrate how they conducted the pilot and what outputs they developed in multilingualism research.

After the introduction, University of Jyväskylä Research and Innovation Services will present some opportunities the Horizon Europe Programme offers for a Citizen Science project on multilingualism in schools. A special focus will be on the participation of university external partners. Following participant feedback, the 31 May event will contain more slots and time for questions and discussion. New participants welcome!

Please register for the event through this link by 28 May 2021.
