The FORTHEM Diversity and Migration Lab of the University of Palermo, coordinated at the Alliance level by Professors Francesco Lo Piccolo, Giuseppe Paternostro and Annalisa Mangiaracina and at the local level by Professor Vincenzo Todaro, organised the final Evaluation Meeting of the Lab and Summer School “Migrants’ rights in European space”.

The Evaluation Meeting was held on Monday 6 June 2022 at the Circular Room of the Law Department of the University of Palermo. The event was divided into several sessions; in the morning there was: an opening session, a session on the evaluation of the experimentation period, a session on the presentation of the results and a session on the students’ experience report. In the afternoon, a panel discussion on the future of the Laboratory in the new funding period and conclusions were conducted.

The Summer School took place from Tuesday 7 June to Friday 10 June 2022 at the Aula Magna of the Department of Architecture of the University of Palermo. Several lectures were held each day on the topics of migration, human rights and migration policies.

Both events were attended by FORTHEM delegates and 31 students from all Alliance partner universities: 10 from the University of Mainz; 6 from the University of Jyväskylän; 1 from the University of Latvijas; 4 from the University of Bourgogne; 3 from the University of Palermo; 2 from the University of Opolski; 5 from the University of Valencia.
