Students come together in FORTHEM Students' Week 2021
Text: Eevi Hakala and Karoliina Ruohonen
The FORTHEM Students' Week 2021 was organized at the Johannes-Gutenberg University of Mainz in November 2021. The program of the Students' Week consisted of networking with the student colleagues from all nine partner universities, planning and workshops about future student projects. We discussed the Alliance’s Student Council (ASC) and its purpose for student representation. The code of conduct is being prepared for the ASC. We look forward to discussing more on this matter when everything is finalized!
The next student project in FORTHEM is an event called the “FORTHEM week”. We nominated members of a “core group” which is responsible for preparing the first steps of the project. Karoliina Ruohonen from the University of Jyväskylä was nominated as the secretary for the project. The purpose of the project is to promote FORTHEM and introduce the possibilities of the FORTHEM Alliance for students. The focus will be on intercultural communication and networking, using the opportunities of FORTHEM and its universities.

We also visited the Christmas market of Mainz and spent time together with student representatives from other FORTHEM universities. The atmosphere of the Student Week was very inspiring and thought-provoking for the future of the Alliance!
