FORTHEM Alliance has designed effective coordination and management structures, which ensure progress towards the joint objectives and transparent communication reaching all levels of alliance universities. The management structures includes a Steering Board, three Mission Boards and Coordinating Offices for the practical management.
The composition of the alliance governance body (see the picture below) ensures that the alliance can keep track of, and in some cases, influence important university-level developments, such as the revision of institutional policies and actions plans. It also ensures that progress towards harmonized administrative processes is not hindered by institutional policies. Finally, the direct involvement from university management in the activities ensures sustainable funding for the alliance.
The three Mission Boards will introduce and implement the so called challenge, explore, create und evaluate - approach in the governance to ensure systematic, coherent progress towards the set aims. This approach involves all relevant actors and levels of the university, ensuring a sustainable cooperation and transparent communication.
