If you have a study project for which you need to travel alone to one of our partner universities for a maximum period of 10 days on site, during your study programme, this can be funded by the FORTHEM alliance (travel costs, accommodation and living expenses).
Examples of projects: to carry out fieldwork, experimentation or research for a thesis (BA, MA, PhD); to create new ties with a student association in a partner university; to work with a group of students in another university on a current or future project, etc. Students may also apply for funding to attend winter or summer schools. However, priority will be given to applications for projects organised by students directly with partner universities.
Please note that the number of places for individual mobility is limited to 3 per university per year.
How to apply for individual mobility in 2020: Fill the form accessible here making sure you attach all the requested documents.
The deadline for applications is Saturday 15th February 2020, 23:59 CET. Please submit all attachments in PDF format.
All students currently enrolled in FORTHEM universities are eligible to apply. For mobility after September 2020, priority will be given to students who are not in their final year of study (i.e. who will still be registered as students in a FORTHEM university on that date).
Students of the University of Burgundy have to fill in the attached form “Authorisation of Attendance”.
Applications will be submitted to the FORTHEM Mobility Mission Board, which will select successful applicants, based on the quality of the project proposed.
Only complete applications, submitted via the online form with all necessary documents by 23:59 CET on Saturday 15th February 2020, will be accepted. All applications should be in English.
Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process by email on 2nd March 2020.
They will have one week to confirm their participation. Students can apply for a maximum of 3 collective and 1 individual mobility programme. If they are accepted for two or more programmes (individual mobility and/or collective mobility) they will need to choose only one programme and refuse the others (including any for which they may still be on a waiting list).
Students on the waiting lists will be contacted if and when places become available for them. They will also need to confirm their participation within one week after being contacted.
Students who no longer want to remain on a waiting list should notify the FORTHEM office of the organising university.
Students will receive funding to cover the approximate costs of their travel, accommodation and living expenses while abroad (individual mobility). In the case of collective mobility, they will receive funding for travel, while accommodation and meals will be provided by the organising university. More information can be provided by their local FORTHEM office.
